HOW DO I REGISTER?
Registration is online. Click on the registration tab on our website to register for the outdoor season. This link will take you to the RAMP website.
If you are a first time user you will need to create an account before registering. If you have used RAMP before for soccer or other sports then you will use your usual log-in credentials to register.
Registration is open from March 1 - April 15, 2024.
HOW LONG IS THE OUTDOOR SEASON?
About 2 months. May and June. Weather permitting, the outdoor season will commence the first week in May and wrap up the end of June.
If a team makes provincials, that team's season will extend to the middle of July. This is the case only for travel teams.
IS TRAVEL INVOLVED?
U5, U7 and U9 are house teams so there is no travel involved. All practices and games for those age groups will take place in Whitecourt.
Travel is involved for all teams that are U13 & older.
For U11 there is the choice to travel, but it is not required. There is an additional cost to travel and the decision must be made at the time of registration to secure a spot on the travel team.
U11's MUST register and play for the house league to be eligible for the travel team.
ARE THE TEAMS CO-ED?
U5 is generally the only co-ed team for outdoor soccer. However, if registration numbers are low in another age group, Whitecourt Minor Soccer Association may look at mixing teams to allow play for all players.
There is potential for the U11 travel team to be mixed if registration numbers don't support separate teams.
WHAT DAYS WILL MY CHILD PLAY?
The schedule will be officially determined once registration has closed and coaches have been secured — near the end of April.
The tentative schedule is listed below but PLEASE BE AWARE days can charge due to registration numbers and coach availability.
U5 - Mon & Wed
U7 - Tues & Thurs
U9 - Tues & Thurs
U11 - Mon & Wed (+ another day for Travel League)
U13 - Mon & Wed
U15 - Mon & Wed
U17 - Tues & Thurs
U19 - Tues & Thurs
House teams — U5, U7, U9 and U11 — play twice a week on alternate days. Either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.
Travel teams — U13 and up and the U11 travel team — will play 3-4 times a week on alternate days.
WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL MY CHILD NEED?
Shin pads are required for ALL age groups.
U5 kids may wear either running shoes or cleats.
U7, U9 & U11 house team players are strongly encouraged to wear cleats as they are important for their skill development. However, running shoes are still accepted.
U13 & up and U11 travel players are all required to wear cleats.
